| Hello, welcome to Midawn Pomeranians and Pyreneans,
and thank you for visiting us. We hope you enjoy your time on
our site and please call again. Julie and Jenna Chinn. The Midawn kennels were first established in nineteen
seventy eight by myself, Julie Chinn. I have owned Pomeranians
for thirty six years, my first one being from Harold Grace of the "Vertona"
kennels. Some years later I bought a bitch from Bob Flavell of
the "Wilmscote" kennels. I bred my "Wilmscote" bitch and kept two of her puppies.
One of these puppies, a little dog by the name of Midawn Timothy The
Torment did some winning at open shows, but I rarely did the
championship shows in those days.
I later bought in two bitches and started to produce a line of
Pomeranians that I liked. I tried to look at self whelping
lines, and have been fortunate with my bitches self whelping,
although I have had the occasional bitch that has needed a caesarean
section. I try to breed sound typical Pomeranians with extrovert
temperaments and good coats, and I also aim for pretty heads.
All the Midawn dogs have plenty of freedom, and are walked in the
woods and fields around our home every day. They are looked
after by myself, my daughter Jenna and a lady called Monica Gregory.
Latterly I have introduced Pyrenean Mountain dogs, another breed
I have always loved. We have bred just the one litter of
Pyreneans and kept two of the puppies. They are sired by
Champion Shanlimore Midnight Cowboy. The dam being a "Shayshatow"
bitch sired by Shayshatow Star Attraction.
Other breeds that have been bred in the past at Midawn are
Labradors and Terriers, both for working purposes. My husband
used to work them regularly, he was a gamekeeper and trained his own
dogs. He has also had German Shorthaired Pointers, brilliant
workers, but he never bred from them.
Shetland Sheepdogs were another of my breeds, I had Shelties for
eighteen years, but have been without for several years. They
too did quite well in the show-ring. They were mainly of the "Shelert"
breeding. We also have a Rottweiler and a Border Collie. All our dogs
are part of the family and are very much loved.
